2018 Conference Update

The 2018 conference recently took place in Manchester, United Kingdom, from 12

-14th September.

The theme of the conference was "Why we do what we do: the purpose and impact of guidelines", and we

hope that all our delegates who attended enjoyed the opportunity to network with colleagues from the

guideline world.

We were fortunate once again to have secured an excellent array of speakers for what was a stimulating

programme, as well as receiving a record number of abstract submissions.

This was our 14

annual G-I-N conference, and we were delighted to be working with two fantastic local

hosts who were also founder members: NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and

SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network). Thank you so much for helping us bring the conference

to Manchester.

The city of Manchester certainly didn’t disappoint, and we were able to sample some of the fantastic culture

and locations during our time there - from our innovative welcome reception at the Museum of Science and

Industry to our stunning gala dinner at the Principal hotel.

Many thanks to our sponsors and exhibitors for their support in making this another great conference, but

most of all thanks to our loyal members and delegates for their enthusiastic participation; we really do hope

you left feeling educated about the latest developments and research, informed about the work of G-I-N and

with an array of new contacts, with whom you can collaborate in the future!
